Southern Uganda Mannya Central Village

In November 2007, we arrived in Mannya village, Uganda. Known to be an area rife with HIV/AIDS and deemed “Mission Impossible” by its local diocese, Mannya was a community in need of help. A lack of education, basic infrastructure and healthcare facilities had led to a village in desperate need of a helping hand.
In 2016 the Ross Langdon HIV Education Centre was opened. The centre is a community hub where locals meet to discuss the impact of HIV and how it can be prevented. These discussions attract a wide range of demographics and is key in educating locals about the disease.

Ducere Creative Writing Classes

In 2017 we partnered with the Ducere Foundation to deliver inspiring creative writing master classes to teachers and students in Southern Uganda. The Ducere Foundation is an organisation that works with local governments and other Foundations with the desire to improve the quality of public education right across Africa.

The program focused specifically on developing the creative writing skills of teachers from Primary 6-7, Senior 1-2, as well as groups of students from each year level.

• Multi Purpose Hall where activities like concerts, debates and assemblies take place
