About Cotton On Foundation

Although Cotton On has been raising funds for charities since it’s inception in 1991, the Foundation was officially registered in August 2008.  The fundraising process received a massive boost when we initiated the $1 charity bag sale program in 2004. All proceeds were directed to charitable causes and since the charity bag initiative commenced, over $750,000 has been raised.

Initially Cotton On delivered lump sums to many viable causes such as The Australian Red Cross, Make a Wish Foundation, Australian Cancer Research Foundation, Australian Cancer Research Foundation, The Royal Children’s Hospital and several local charities throughout the Geelong Region.

The registration of the Cotton On Foundation has allowed our organisation to introduce further initiatives including the popular “Message in a Bottle” bottled water campaign, raising more funds that can be directed to needy causes. The water bottles have been circulated since October 2008 and have been going in to new stores every week. As the company opens more stores and expands internationally, so too will the funds raised from water sales.

This year the Foundation’s focus has been to take a more holistic approach and involve ourselves directly in the projects to ensure we know exactly where the dollar is going. We are currently involved first hand with projects in Uganda, as well as some closer to home including Rainbow Riders, Run Geelong and various charities.

The projected profit for the Foundation in 2009 is $1,000,000 with a key objective in helping remote and disadvantaged communities around the globe.
